Join us for a special reception at The Griffin Trading Company kicking off the very first Human Rights DocU Weekend presented by the World Affairs Council and the Embrey Human Rights Program at SMU. This reception will showcase a special exhibit of human rights-related art along with providing an opportunity to meet with DocU Weekend organizers and featured panelists before the weekend begins.

The Art of Remembrance exhibit features 35 pieces reflecting the work of students who have taken the human rights course America’s Dilemma: The Struggle for Human Rights taught each fall, spring and summer by Dr. Rick Halperin at Southern Methodist University as part of the Embrey Human Rights Program (EHRP), an interdisciplinary program dedicated to providing opportunities for learning about and promoting human rights in the DFW area and in the world.
