Zig Zag G Biomorphic Abstract Sculpture
This unusual biomorphic sculpture is the artist Garth Hite’s exploration of the human form reimagined. Like a companion, this lifesize sculpture is meant to live in the collectors space. The organic shape and flat surface are emphasized by the three vibrant colors, which complement the curved form and design of the sculpture. This form is the female version. There is a companion piece to this one titled Zig Zag B, the male version. See the photo showing both pieces together.
From The Artist…
This sculpture began as part of a chair and morphed into what it is now. It resembles the body … a head, pelvis, leg, foot, heart, and hand. The hand is part of the body turned down to create the heart and the function of the hand is to hold. Three colors were added to interconnect the curves and to oppose and complement one another. I envision this sculpture occupying the observer’s environment as if participating in daily life.
The sculptures organic shape was plasma cut from 1/16 inch thick steel plate. The painted surface is made up of several coats of high performance urethane paint and finished with several more coats of clear urethane with UV protection. This allows the sculpture to be shown indoors or outdoors. The artist brand is found on the underside of the sculpture.
