Cherubim 1 is a large biomorphic abstract sculpture by artist Garth Hite. The organic shape and flat surfaces are emphasized by the three colors, which complement each other as the form carries your interests across the sculpture. The curves, angles, and openings are an integral element that challenge the viewers imagination. The bright yellow and aqua colors highlight the curved lines and circular cutouts. When lit, the free flowing rounded design and openings cast noticeable shadows and patterns on the floor and its surroundings.
The sculptures organic shape was plasma cut from quarter inch thick steel plate. The painted surface is made up of several coats of high performance urethane paint and finished with several more coats of clear urethane with UV protection. This allows the sculpture to be shown indoors or outdoors. There are two tabs at the bottom that allow the work to be anchored or mounted to a pedestal or stand. Whether displayed indoors directly on the floor or outside in a garden, this work is sure to be noticed.
