Working from his studio in Dallas, Texas, Donny Bodine explores the human form through a disciplined language of line and restraint. Each piece begins with India ink on paper, where a continuous gesture evolves into a complete figure, stripped of detail, yet rich in expression.
Bodine’s work removes all but the essential elements. He allows the viewer to engage with form, movement and balance in their purest states. The female figure becomes both the subject and structure, defined by fluid curves, negative space and the quiet tension between control and spontaneity.
While each composition varies in pose, the process remains consistent. Each of his artworks are hand-drawn using ink on artist paper. His pieces are designed to live within their environment, complementing rather than competing. All his artworks offer a sense of calm, elegance and timeless modernity.
