Moises Monteferro
Artist | Painter
Moises C. Monteferro is a contemporary abstract and expressionist painter active between New York and Spain, originally from Vigo, Spain. Largely self‑taught, Monteferro began his artistic journey with abstract painting before evolving into a more expressionist style characterized by monochromes and dynamic, textured brushwork. In the 1970s he worked with Spanish painter Fernando Artal, and his work later absorbed influences from artists such as Antoni Tàpies and the avant‑garde movements he encountered while studying and traveling in Spain and Paris. Throughout his career, Monteferro has explored abstraction and expressive mark‑making to create emotionally charged compositions that reflect his search for artistic identity and visual language.
