Jay Strongwater Alexandro picture frame was created in 2010 and is part of the Venezia Collection. This elegant and vividly bejeweled frame was inspired by the exploration of the Venetian decorative arts. The gold metal frame is adorned with scrolling acanthus and flowering designs filled with color. The hand-painted enamel vines are filled with settings of Swarovski Crystals, cabochons and gemstones. In particular we love the large oval mother-of-pearl stone with its radiant iridescent color.
The leg on the reverse of the frame is just as ornate and exuberant as the front. Covered in rich jeweled tone enamel colors and hand-set stones, the back is just as precious as the front. The hinged openwork panel on the back is covered in gold and enamel and has a Fortuny fabric style motif. This is where you’ll also find the hand signed gold signature of the designer along with the date 2010. The original owner apparently had an opportunity to meet the designer in person, who signed the newly acquired objet d’art.
The Jay Strongwater Alexandro picture frame is a Limited Edition frame and is Hallmarked on the reverse with the “Jay Strongwater” copyrighted logo and numbered 34/250. On the back you will also see where the artist hand signed and dated this piece in gold ink. That makes this piece especially valued to collectors and more rare than his other photo frames. This is a large scale tabletop photo frame that is sure to make a statement in any setting.
