Is it ICARUS ? The actual title is unknown, but it could be an image of a very old Icarus from Greek mythology. Look very closely… do you see it? Along the ridge of his upper right wing, it reads… “Southern Baptist Beware”. There is a message here from the artist, but only he truly knows the meaning. The artist is Lee Baxter Davis from Texas. This is an original 1965 etching from an edition of 50 and is signed and dated in pencil. It is professionally mounted with a thick bevel cut ivory mat and set in a oak wood frame.
